NGA

The National Governors’ Association (NGA) is an independent charity that aims to improve the educational standards and well-being of children and young people through supporting and promoting outstanding governance in all state-funded schools, including academies and free schools. We work closely with, and lobby, government and the major educational bodies to ensure that the views of governors are fully represented in the national arena.

Ofqual

The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) regulates qualifications, examinations and assessments in England and vocational qualifications in Northern Ireland.

Ofsted

Ofsted regulates and inspects childcare and children's social care. This covers schools, colleges, initial teacher education, work-based learning and skills training, adult and community learning, education and training in prisons and other secure establishments, and the Children and Family Court Advisory Support Service (Cafcass).

PTA UK

Established in 1956, PTA UK is a national charity that provides support, guidance and practical resources to PTAs across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The SEND Gateway

The SEND Gateway, is an online portal offering free, easy access to high quality information, resources and training for meeting the needs of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).  While many of the resources are aimed at educational professionals, governors will find some helpful material, particularly in relation to the reforms to SEN.
